In 2002 Linda wrote her master's thesis on the political and social imagery in nineteenth century Baltimore Album Quilts. Her thesis earned the Dean's Thesis Prize for Social Sciences at the 2002 Harvard University Extension School Commencement. The full thesis is available for downloading:
At the 2002 Harvard University Extension School Commencement ceremony, Linda served as the student speaker. The text of her speech, which compares continuing education to quilting, can be read at the following link: http://www.dce.harvard.edu/pubs/alum/2002/13.html. As a candidate in the National Quilting Association's judging certification program, Linda was required to compile her credentials for the entire length of her quilting career.
