Lectures and Trunk Shows

Linda incorporates computer/video/LCD projection technology into both
her lectures and classes, providing the optimum experience for all participants.

Getting in Touch With Your Inner Stash

Why is it that you can never find what you are looking for when you go to your stash for a piece of fabric for your current project? How do you go about figuring out how to make use of your stash so you can feel justified in buying more fabric? What makes a good stash quilt? This very popular lecture/trunk show features 15-20 quilts that illustrate how to "get in touch with your inner stash."

America Through the Eyes of the Quiltmaker

Linda's original trunk show features more than 20 quilts and traces the evolution of the United States through a review of the development of quilting styles and techniques. Travel through time, not on a magic carpet, but on a comfy quilt!

To Judge or Not to Judge

A hands-on demonstration of the process a quilt goes through once it is entered into a judged show.  This presentation helps guild members become comfortable with the concept of having their pieces evaluated and getting constructive feedback to improve the quality of their work.

Workshops

Linda offers one- and two-day workshops for quilt guilds and groups.  The workshops (listed in order of recent popularity) are well-organized and fun.  References available upon request.

Free-Motion Machine Quilting

This is an excellent workshop for those who wish to improve their free motion quilting techniques.  Included is information on threads, batting, and design techniques. Familiarity with free motion quilting necessary.

Machine Trapunto

Learn to simulate the look of hand-stuffed trapunto using today’s water soluble & invisible threads on your machine.  This technique gives an elaborate & formal appearance while adding depth & texture to your finished quilts. Familiarity with free motion quilting necessary.

Feathered Star

(the freezer paper pieced way)
This perennial favorite can be difficult, but using freezer paper piecing takes away the frustration of dealing with half square triangles.  Students will construct a 24 inch feathered star.. This technique is awesome… your friends will think you spent HOURS making the half-square triangles featured in this perennial favorite block… but you’ll know the secret!

Blue Bayou Table Runner

Combining a yard of a favorite focus fabric with four fat quarters, workshop participants will create a stunning table runner reminiscent of a mosaic tiled floor.  The workshop reinforces accurate rotary cutting and precision piecing skills.

Advanced Free Motion Machine Quilting

For the quilter who has had some experience with free-motion, but wants to focus on techniques to move to the next level.  This class will focus on building a repertoire of skills, including stitching intricate feather designs.  This class is NOT appropriate for beginners or individuals who are not familiar with their machines.
